Since members of our family will be in different locales next Sunday, we decided to have a mini-Father's Day activity last week.In memory of Poppy and to honor his service in the US Army Air Corps as a Flying Tiger in WWII, we went to the new US Air Force Memorial.
There's a moving glass engraving of the "Missing Man" formation, which is flown in memory of a fallen airman.
Of course, we were there to remember and honor our own missing man, for the first time this Father's Day.
It really is a beautiful memorial, with three arcs that ascend skyward.
