Proud to report that I’m leaving Las Vegas with a net positive return on my gambling/entertainment money. I finished up 133%. (Ever notice how it’s gambling money when you win and ‘entertainment’ money when you lose?)
Anyway, I did enjoy Las Vegas, even though it is a type of ‘bizzaro world’ that represents the best potential of American capitalism and the worst in excess, vice, and depravity. One thing I did forget was how much you walk in Las Vegas (or can). It’s immaculate and a walker’s paradise though surreal and disorienting since when you’re in the casino, you don’t know if it’s 3pm or 3am. Not sure it really matters, of course. I was impressed by the friendly attitude of the employees of the various establishments. I suppose when your entire economy is based upon having people want to visit you, you’d better be darn nice.
